Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 07/27/2010

Number: 1

Hummers have been very active the past few weeks at my feeder and I saw one chasing another off yesterday. It looks like they have made a summer home at my feeder. I have always made sugar water nectar for them in the past, but bought some ready-mix nectar at Wal-Mart this year and they have already finished a gallon and a half bottle of it so I will be going to get some more as my feeder is almost empty. I enjoy watching them outside my home office window and I'm curious to see what the migration pattern will be like this fall. I would love to see numerous hummers at the feeder, but so far only one at a time. I think hummers are my favorite bird watching of all and they are very unique.
