I had almost given up on the prospect of any monarchs visiting my waystation as my milkweed was taking over the entire garden. I had a nice surprise this morning when a gorgeous female was here. She was in perfect condition and could not have been very old. Her coloration was vivid and her wings were completely intact. She stayed for at least an hour and left two dozen eggs, which we will raise indoors, along with four other species that will be released upon eclosing.
