Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 08/12/2010

Number: 1

I had just been telling someone yesterday that August is a "down" month for us here along the TX midcoast, with few, almost no, monarchs, when at noon I find myself watching a faded female in the position of depositing eggs on the backyard curassavica. I watched her thru binocs for quite a while, she visited many plants around the yard, flew around, rested, and would return to start all over again ... haven't seen that for quite awhile ... weeks! We have been under a hot HIGH pressure area covering a great deal of the southeast. TD#5 did shove a few showers along the TX coast and there is a possible front about Tuesday ... dream on!
