There were many Monarchs seen throughout the weekend in the Saluda, NC area. Perhps the largest groupings were seen along Rte 25 south of Saluda heading to Greenville,SC, along the watershed. Numbers perhaps 25-50 at the most occurred over 10-15 minutes. There were
clusters of the butterflies, some apparently mating. Others were feeding
on flowers along the roadside, in much smaller groups of about 3-4 max.
There also were some swallow tails as well.
