Our hummingbirds have been very active. We have 4-6 birds working the feeder, spending as much time chasing each other as they do feeding. They seem to be feeding more, perhaps because of the drought? They start early at sunrise and until late in the evening. They spend an unusual amount of energy defending their territory. Are the mothers and and a dad chasing their children away to learn the ropes? The hummingbirds are so much like family.
