our first sighting seen 3 along road in farmer's field that is used for hay or straw. It was before 1st cut and there is milkweed mixed throughout. while outdoors we always look for monarchs. We see them less than other types. We saw just the other day what appeared to be a monarch on a tall pink clover flower(or vetch?)in that same field. The field slopes gently upward from the road for hundreds of yds. and goes along road 600yds. before the cut there are all types of butterflies wherever you look, we always stop and go slowly sometimes follow butterlies for a spell.
