This summer, I have refilled (3) 40-oz. feeders every 2 days, so we have had lots of hummers! And I've ordered 2 more feeders. It's obvious, though, that we have migrating birds now. It's hot and dry with few flowers available. The hummers don't seem happy with the newcomers! Rather than just fussing around the feeders, there's lots more chasing clear across the yard. We are surrounded by fields; so far I've not seen any headed south.
