Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 08/17/2010

Number: 50

For the past couple of days Monarchs have been flitting around my garden, first a few, then yesterday there were dozens of them! about 50 or more were fluttering about our tall east-facing poplar tree and settling there, undoubtedly to catch that first morning sun to warm them up.I'm not sure how many there were altogether. I have been putting butterfly feeders out to help them store up some energy for their flight - I just love these little creatures so much, it brings me untold joy to see so many! These are about the first ones Ive seen all summer! Wish them luck!
