Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 08/19/2010

Number: 1

For the past two weeks, I have observed approximately half a dozen monarchs a day using our flower garden as a way station. We have zinnias, nasturtiums, Rose of Sharon, daylilies and milkweed growing on our property. The monarchs especially like the zinnias and milkweed, and we can see eggs on the leaves of the milkweed plants. These beautiful butterflies stay in the garden anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes.
