Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/18/2010

Number: 1

On this date, and for several days prior, we observed an increase of hummers at our feeder. During the latter part of Spring and most of the Summer, we saw 2-4 hummers at the feeder throughout the day. In the past two weeks, we have observed approximately a dozen at a time fighting for a shot at the feeder. The nectar level decreases by 2 inches in a 24 hour period. We notice ruby throats and emerald backs, tiny gray hummers and a blue green variety I've not seen before.
