Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/19/2010

Number: 1

We saw 3 hummingbirds today. I saw the female once and then either 2 males or a male twice. It's difficult to tell. We believe there is more than one male visiting because it appears that one has more green on him and the other has the ruby throat but is more white with black markings and not much visible green. It's been a bit of a debate over whether its the angle or not. Our hummingbird feeder hangs on the outside of a kitchen window over our sink so we often have the pleasure of walking upon a bird. They seem to have a pattern. We spot males in the morning and evening and depending on the heat here, sometimes throughout the day but rarely see the females other than in the evening. It seems they time their meals with when I'm cooking ours!
