Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/20/2010

Number: 1

6:30 am this morning I saw a male hummer at the feeder hanging from a shepherd's crook next to the black pine tree which is steps away from the front porch. Over the past 2 weeks, I have seen many hummers frequent the feeder, which I refill about every 4 days. Often they feed and then sit in the tree and preen. When another hummer arrives, the one in the tree will ambush him or her and they engage in air combat, diving around until one leaves.
