3 of us were working in a newly established butterfly garden at the South Carolina Botanical Garden in Clemson. We first spotted a rather worn monarch with most of the left rear wing missing. Shortly we saw 2 fresh, 1 male & 1 female. This is the time they usually come through & lay eggs. We did find a couple of cats on asclepias syriaca in the garden.
