Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/20/2010

Number: 1

We keep a hummingbird feeder in our butterfly garden, and one on the front porch - and have done so for many years. Ruby Throated "Hummers" arrive in May, are active all summer, and like phoebes are among the last migrants to take wing - generally in late September. At least four or five individuals are now active at our feeders. We also have a lot of Buddleia in the garden - awash in flowers and drawing hummers and butterflies. Given your interest in this species I will observe more carefully and send weekly reports.
