Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/21/2010

Number: 1

I have two feeders they are frequented regularly. One out front in a tree and the other on my deck. This morning I had a close encounter of the first kind. Up close and personal, (I was watering my plants)it fluttered in front of me then drank from its feeder over my head. After it was through it flew a way into the tree in front of me. I moved to another planter (I have them on my railings) and ths time it came back stayed and fluttered its wings infront of me again. Stayed quite a while as if to say hello or goodby. It was so close I could see its eyes. This is the first time this has ever happened. I have had them once or twice flutter infront of my slider, but never this close. I could have touched him. Again maybe it was his way of saying thank you and goodby for the season.
