After having a simply "banner year" with a couple of rufous and dozens of Caliope hummingbirds at our feeders, in Kelowna BC this summer, on August 4th they all disappeared - all at once!!!! then approximately August 8th, we saw two larger (caliope) definitely not rufous, and they have been feeding and playing at our feeder. Perhaps they are enroute south from further north and have just stopped in for a short while. It has been very hot, but as of today more acceptable. So how long these 2 will be with us is anyone's guess. So much fun !!!!
