Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 08/22/2010

Number: 1

My wife and I tagged 75 monarchs in 1 hour and 45 minutes today. Last year it took many, many hours and many days to tag this many. We tag the monarchs through the Monarch Watch program. The weather was sunny and 82 degrees with a very slight breeze. The monarchs were found in fields of purple clover and alfalfa fields. This was one of our easiest years of tagging that we have had since we started in 2001. We have had 17 of our butterflies from previous years found in Mexico. My observation time: I was tagging for __1_ hours and 45___ minutes.
