Looking up at the evening sky Saturday I noticed a flock of birds flying. I couldn't tell whixh type of bird they were but at first glance I thought it was a flock of 100 or so. The line was about 15 - 20 birds deep but on further observation I noticed the path was so wide I couldn't see the end of it from where I sat. I am going to estimate there were more than 500 birds that I could see. I wished I could have seen what kind of bird but it was getting dark. Also the odd thing was the direction they were flying in... sort of a Northwestern direction. I feel sure this is the beginnings of a migration flight.
