My son saw two to three hundred monarchs on Green Island in Georgian Bay. They were not roosting (it was the middle of the day). They were flying around in groups of about 10 all over the island. This particular island of the group of islands called the Minks is the one which they seem to prefer. He saw many monarchs roosting there a few years ago. At that time, he also saw migrating monarchs on the Limestone Islands (45.387239, -80.532017). He has been told that this is part of the monarch and bird migration route. It is a provincial park which is protected from campers etc. because of its ecological importance.
