Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 08/24/2010

Number: 2000

Not sure if this is a roost but they have been gathering in the trees along the road for at least a few hours. They are very concentrated in one area of the road for about an 1/8 of a mile. They are resting in the trees and some of them fly about when we walk past. There are thousands of them, very, very cool.

Editor’s Note: We are estimating a minimum of 2000 monarchs based on observer’s estimate of “thousands.”
