Number: 300

September 4
Several hundred monarchs noted last evening 9/3/2010 clustering in the trees.

See this 5 second video clip.

August 26
Several clusters of groups of 20 noted on north side of grove (wind is from the south and forecast to stay that way through the weekend).

I just started counting, but estimate that the numbers have been increasing since august 5th.

photo will show many monarchs taking flight from a cut cornfield....then entering our grove from the west around 9 am

alfalfa field (approx 1/8 mile by 1/8 mile in size) was cut on 8/23 in the evening

we have phlox, purple cone flower, sedum, lots of goldenrod, milkweed is very common here

August 25
I've been observing very large numbers of monarchs clustering in our grove of trees for the last several days. In years past there have been spectacular massive numbers exiting our property...to the point where the sky is blackened by their numbers. A possible roosting point? BEAUTIFUL!!!
