we have enjoyed ruby throated hummingbirds each year as they nest here in the tall pines... this year we had at least 2 nests and 4 babies! the adult males left ~2 weeks ago. now the females and young male are very aggresively guarding the feeders and we watch them in mid air and in the trees. sometimes many more are here and it gets really crazy with everyone flying all over the place!!!... perhaps migrating birds enter the territory ? this year we have a new feeder on the window and we we watch them drink from inside the house!!!
