Judging from the varied sizes and stages of eggs and cats found, we have had at least a dozen egg-layings on my syriaca and incarnata (primarily the latter) in North Alexandria, beginning Aug. 1 and probably ending last weekend. This is an infinite increase over the last 2 years, as there was no monarch activity at all at this location throughout the late summer. I now have released 6 adults, of which 4 were female, have two remaining chrysalises and six cats at instars 2 thru 4. All cats and adults have seemed to be quite healthy.
