Today I sighted 2 Monarchs in 2 separate fields fyling over. I was able to retrieve 3 eggs, 3 second instars, 2 fourth instars,and 2 first instars! So now I have 50 Monarchs in various stages and I am waiting for their tags to arrive before my first 2 chrysalis emerge. The milkweed is beginning to turn quite yellow in this area and there are lots of pods. There were lots of signs of other caterpillars that had been predated within the last 2 weeks on the milkweed. I have been able to make more sighings and findings in my area than last summer.
