We now have 6-8+ ruby-throats in our yards. We thought the number had dropped to less, but have seen much activity the past two days, especially in the evenings. We have 4 larger feeders and 2 smaller ones in our backyard, plus a larger one at the kitchen window, and a larger one at the living room window. Last night I observed 3 young males with just a small amount of red on each of their chins sitting atop 3 separate sherherd's hooks with a feeder hanging from each one, each fiercely defending that feeder repeatedly. They provide us with so much pleasure in observing their behavior and antics!!
