I put up two hummingbird feeders today because not much is blooming in my yard right now. Almost immediately at least three ruby-throated hummingbirds showed. One dominated the feeder and kept chasing the others away. After dinner I went out to cut down some of the honeysuckle that it taking over the fence. When I sat down to rest, a male hummer came over to within two feet of my face and gave a great view of his gorget. I then realized I was wearing a red shirt and holding my red handled clippers.
