Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/27/2010

Number: 1

Temps got down into the 40's last night. This creates wonderful mystical fog patches that leave all the summer flowers dripping with dew. I photographed two either juvenile or female Rubythroats, diving and sipping from the deep purple morning glories just outside my kitchen window. They were spatting with fierce squeaks over their nectary prey. This summer was my first to have hummers that ignored feeders. But the heat and humidity produced flowers from early spring right up to now. Guess home grown beats home made!
