Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/26/2010

Number: 1

Hummers were 2 months later than last year, but now are evident many times every day. Have seen more females than males. Adults and little ones frequent our feeder as well as superbells in planter, hibiscus, lantana, butterfly bushes and red mandevilla. They often approach if I am using the hose; they linger in the mist! Have seen several instances of territorial behavior and "posturing." Some flit nervously about while others perch atop the feeder hook to rest between long drinks.
