Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 08/27/2010

Number: 1

The Monarchs have actually been here in north-central Oklahoma all summer long. I cannot recall ever seeing so many of them in any one summer. In fact, usually we don't begin seeing a few until this time of the year at earliest for their fall migration. Why this would be is a mystery to me. Anyway, today, like most other days for the last month, I've spotted 4 or 5 Monarchs nectaring on flowers. Most are headed generally south, but not in any kind of hurry like we will see later when the migration is occuring in earnest. My observation time: I was watching for _3__ hours and _0__ minutes.
