Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/27/2010

Number: 1

our feeder still has a male. He and another female were chasing off another F/JV at one point today. Activity was most busy in the a.m. but constant throughout the whole day.

I used the hose to remove a column of ants off the feeder and refill the moat. The spray left droplets alongside of the tall glass feeder. Along came a hummer to feed. It tried one plastic flower, then a second one. Not satisfied, while trying the third flower, on the side with the droplets, that bird appeared to be curious as it flew up that feeder looking at the droplets of water, looking inside the filled moat, and then back down the feeder to the flower.
