Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/12/2010

Number: 1

We had our first late-summer visitor on Aug. 12. Since then, two have been coming several times a day to our feeder. Two male ruby-throats come, one sits on the edge of the feeder, and the other one alternately hovers and feed, hovers and feeds.

We do not see hummingbirds through the course of the summer, so when they finally come, it is exciting. We change the fluid often, because of the still high temperatures - in the 90's.
