A peaceful tranquility reigned over our four feeders today as we watch the females come in to sip and savor in the early morning sun. No male presented a challenge and we sadly realized that the males must have departed. We saw no males throughout the day. We bid a silent adieu to the red jaboted gentlemen of summer. Godspeed to our tiny fliers. We wish you kind winds, clear weather and a safe arrival to your winter shelters. We will await your return, a harbinger of a new summer to come.
