We were hiking and bicycling along the prairie site here at the state park when we realized there were monarchs flying all around us. We checked the trees around the perimeter of the prairie and there were hundreds of monarchs flying about and landing on the branches in groups. First time to see a monarch roost. Really cool! We shot a photograph, attached. - Peggy and Bill Stuart
Editor’s Note: We are estimating a minimum of 200 monarchs based on observer’s estimate of “hundreds.”
