After four rainy days, high pressure moved into this area on Thursday (8/26), with NW breezes that brought 6-8 monarchs to our garden. Most were "fresh" looking, and a couple behaved like early migrants, progressing south thru the garden and flying-off toward the sun. This evening a monarch flew over my car, heading SW toward the sun. Summer monarchs are still active here, but I believe early migrants are also moving through, about a week earlier than usual. My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and ___ minutes. I've begun to keep daily notes of monarch sightings, and will continue to do so.
