A female ruby throat came near to sitting on my net book screen she came so close. She was actively checking me out. I have a feeder about three feet away on an A frame swing where I sit have coffee and check my email. I have to say one never came up that close before. I have also heard them at the window feeder in the morning. At this moment almost 9 am there is another ruby sitting on my shepards crook at my house. I have seen way more females all year but mostly lately. Sightings of males are less common and less common then in the past. I have been putting out fed for the last 5 or so years. I am glad to have a place to check on the sightings and a place to add my own. The very late arrivel this year worried me and was glad to see it was just a pattern and the little sweeties hadn't found a better place to dine.
