Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/30/2010

Number: 1

During the course of the day, I counted 14 hummers (one at a time)using one of my feeders. My dominant male was absent yesterday from this feeder, where he has been "roosting" for the past two weeks or so and driving off all comers. Most of the sightings were probably a mixture of females and juvenile males, as they had the white tail feathers, but there was at least one male observed during the day. My husband reported seeing "lots of solo hummers" at the feeder in the front of the house, but he wasn't keeping count.
