Observations from our cabin situated in a mountain community where hummers are fed all summer by the locals and vacationers. Number of hummers has decreased significantly this week, we think the birds are moving into lower elevations with warmer nights. We were filling feeders almost daily and now can go up to 5 days. Rufous appear to have left and Broadtailed visiting feeders now. Perhaps 1/3 number of birds as during high summer.
