Many of the leaves are already yellow and falling. I think the long hot summer is making them turn and fall earlier than they would normally. Although this is not a fall sign, at 8:45 A.M. this morning there was a male oriole eating at my nectar feeder that has grape nectar in it. I had not seen an oriole for nearly two weeks, and was going to take the feeder down until next year. I have never had any orioles here this late in the season. Each time I see another oriole, I wonder if it will be the last one this year.
