Today while driving from St. Ignace, MI to Brevort, MI on U.S. 2, I counted 62 monarchs within 20 minutes. When we arrived at our seasonal Lake MI condo in Brevort, the parking lot was covered with monarchs--maybe 100. I just spent 10 minutes out on our balcony overlooking Lake MI and they seem to be coming by (flying west) at the rate of about one per second. I'll keep watching! My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and ___ minutes. See comments above.
