Busy afternoon at the hummingbird feeder! It was hard to count how many, but I saw at least 3 ruby-throats at the same time at a couple of points. There may have been more but I couldn't tell because of the way they were chasing each other around. It seems like they use more energy guarding the feeder than they get from the food. I watched from about 3:00 to 3:30 this afternoon. It rained at least 2 inches last night and this morning. The temperature at 3:30 was about 78 degrees.
