Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 08/23/2010

Number: 200

Camping at Point Farms Provincial Park, driving down the long driveway which was lined with pine trees, in the evening saw hundreds of monarch. It was breathtaking. Down at the beach, there was always 1 or 2 in sight. There are some minor dunes at this location with many milkweed plants. Did not check out the plants in particular. At the campsite, there was always 2-4 visible.

Editor’s Note: We are estimating a minimum of 200 monarchs based on observer’s estimate of “hundreds.”
