Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/02/2010

Number: 1

I have had Hummingbirds competing with the Baltimore Orioles for the feeder. I can identify at least three constant individuals. Their names are Flash, Swoop, and Dive. Flash is a larger bird that guards the feeder. Swoop and Dive are smaller sized birds with shorter bills that sneak in when the Orioles are on the other side of the feeder feeding. The male Oriole will not permit the female to feed with him. She opens her beak and chatters at him then sits on top to the staff until he is done with eating. They have been here several days.
