a flock of goldfinches flitting through the trees at the edge of the bush- feeding on the cherry tree. goldenrod looks beautiful. milkweed still looking healthy and lots of monarchs in the area. chickens are going back to their coop much earlier - in their beds by 7:15pm now! we released a blandings turtle in the wetland she lived in when she was hit by a car in the spring - she was happy to be back home after being rehabilitated all summer in the turtle hospital in peterborough. baby snapping turtles, painted turtles and blandings turtles are hatching and moving about now - drive carefully through the marshes! maple trees in the wetlands along highway 7 between madoc and marmora are turning colour - large maple trees in maple are beginning to show their red leaves...we should have some 'real' fall weather this fall- temp is to drop from +32C today to +12C by Friday evening.
