Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/02/2010

Number: 1

This has been a fantastic summer of Monarchs for me! I planted lots of milkweed in the early spring and since July 4th I've had Monarchs laying eggs and emerging. There are still over 100 caterpillars on the milkweed eating like crazy and I saw Monarch Butterflies mating yesterday which means she will be laying more eggs. I was able to bring into my house and feed six caterpillars and my four grandchildren got to see them turn to "J", then to green chrysalis and then emerge to Monarch Butterfly. What a thrill for them and for me.
