I'm stunned. 108 degrees at 2:45 p.m. in the afternoon (after a low of 81)at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix: Three monarchs (one female, one male, one unknown gender. They stayed in the shade but flew around occasionally.
Ran into Kirti who said the monarchs appeared yesterday. She saw two yesterday, three today. Heat wave warning tomorrow with anticipated temps of 110, then dropping to highs in the 90's early next week. My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and ___ minutes.
