In Metairie, we have a male Monarch (fresh) been looking for a girl friend in my sister-in-law's garden for more than a week. Monarchs were here all summer, as evidenced by the chewing on the milkweed, but, I think predators got most of the instars. This is normal for this garden to have them year around. Most of New Orleans, will see them on and off, especially in low areas that are protected in the winter and summer.
