Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/02/2010

Number: 1

Just wanted to report the night of August 31st was a big rainstorm that lasted all night. I woke up September 1st to find 3 Rufous Hummingbirds and at least 2 Anna's Hummingbirds and there was one visit from an adult male Anna's during the day. The day went from cloudy to clear and sunny and I seriously wondered if that would be the end of the Rufous, maybe they would get out while the getting was good??

To my surprise, I still have 2-3 Rufous Hummingbirds as of tonight, Sept.2nd 7:30PM. And also 2-3 Anna's Hummingbirds. There is not a lot of feeder use, I still have Jacob Cline Monarda, various salvias, Twinberries, Cardinal Flower, Mimulus Cardinalis, various fuchsias, assorted crocosmia, sweet peas and Himilayan Honeysuckle. Today was sunny and clear, we will see what tomorrow brings.
