We still have at least 25 hummingbirds at our feeders throughout the day. The behavior of these is different than our regular black-chinned hummers and broadtails that have "lived with us" through the summer. These will all sit together at a feeder. I have counted up to 15 at a time sitting and feeding together, while at least 10 others wait on the edge of the nearby trees. One of the "new" ones even had a different style of defending its feeding area. It turned around at the feeder and used its beak as if brandishing a sword, then turned around to feed again, all without ever leaving the feeder.
