Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/02/2010

Number: 1

Hummers (Ruby Throated) come to our "Turk's Caps" every day. They also check on every flower surrounding the area (Blue Salvia, Shrimp Plants, Lantana). We have both females (at least two) and males (one for certain). They chirp as they feed and are very agressive when defending their preferred plant. Although I have a feeder up, they would rather feed on the flowers. We have a densely wooded yard, so I suspect that they are also nesting nearby.
