Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/31/2010

Number: 1

Charlie (see my previous years reports)male rubythoat arrived for the 7th year in a row on 8/31. He is feeding on his favorite yellow shrimp flowers and at our feeder. He is purching in the same places and feeds about the same times. We catch him at breakfast and at dinner time every day from our viewing area. He will stay here now over winter until the end of March. I have also confirmed with other Florida residents who report rubythroats wintering in Florida over the last several years. From just north of Orlando into South Florida.
